Car keeps dying!

I installed a stillen cai, drove it around for a few minutes after the install and everything was fine. I then did the overnight ecu reset. The next morning I was driving it a little hard and it dies. Just thought it was weird but kept driving. It still does it though, only after driving relatively hard (above 4k with accelerator floored) and then pressing in the clutch. If I don't drive like this, it doesn't do it. Please help!

I would check for vaccum leaks. Especially around the air filter and any vaccum hoses to make sure they are seated. Take them off and put them on again to be really sure. Then if that doesn't work, I would disconnect the battery for 5 mins and reconnect. Hopefully it is nothing.

This happens a lot. Do you have a AT or MT? Probably have a 5AT because this happened to me. You might of damaged your MAF Sensor. Put back all your stock intake internals and take it to the dealer. They will be able to see if its the sensor or not. Don't tell them you changed out the intake though.

Your idle drops and engine will shut off, right.

If you did a search on the forum, you would of found all the info you needed.

Hope this helps. Good luck.

Searced but the results were way to broad. I have a 6mt, but yeah,it does the same thing as you described. coming off of high rpms it just goes all the way down to 0. my stock intake got thrown away so I've got to come up with something else.

this has been reported before with CAI (I recall mostly injen, not stillen though). All of the above suggestions are spot on... check your install or buy another stock intake and go back to the dealer.

By the way, the intake came off of a 5at and I have a 6 mt. I was under the impression that this didn't matter, but does it?

sounds like you didnt attach the intake pipe correctly the first time and had a leak...your stillen COLD AIR BOX works with both coupe/sedan auto/6mt

Actually after it started doing this, I disassembled everything and reassembled it...same problem. I didn't touch anything I installed with the CAI when I installed the z tube and no more prob.
