If you look at the dyno's for the FI exhaust, you only have a power dip in the low end between 2000 - 2150 RPM. the loss is SO negligible that it is actually non-existent. That is the catback alone - not testpipes or CATS.

When you add the testpipes or CATS - the dip not only goes away - but low end power is also increased, along with the rest of the power band.

It really is quite a great combination. the only other exhaust system that comes close to those smooth power bands, from my research and testing, was the Borla...but then again that True Dual has more problems than most want to even go into, and it uses a single shared muffler as well.

Rick,

I was thinking the same thing. I have been speaking to Tony for a few days and am about to pull the trigger on this bad boy.

Anyway, what is that "mid-muffler" looking thing in the middle of the FI exhaust? Some kind of x-pipe? I would assume THAT'S why there is the very negligible "power loss" that really doesn't concern me.

Anyway, the sound of the exhaust. How would you describe it? Stock but louder? Does it retain that "stockish" sound that I love? I was looking into the Borla (had the Borla Stinger on my Cobra, loved it) and the Fujitsubo for reasons that they retain the "stockish" sound....

I know you are Vorteched now, but can you shed some opinion on the sound...?

Don

Have you heard the sound clips from some of the reviewers here on the board - there are one or two out there?

The sound is basically an amplified version of the stock sound - more lower tone and growl, and a monster sound when WOT. It does keep a lot of the trumpet sound, just a little bit deeper.

The front muffler - is the resonated X-Pipe...

Rick,

I haven't been successful searching for the sound clips of the owners of the FI system on this board. All I really have to go by are the clips off your site on the 350Z. They are decent, but I would like to hear a G with the exhaust to finalize my decision.

I am about 90% sure on the FI system, been considering the Fuji system, but that's not true dual and is actually more expensive with the Y-Pipe. Plus the Y-pipe has that mesh stuff in it that likes to rot out and leak after a few years.....not really what I was looking for.....

Here's the link directly to the video...

The original thread this is in was back May...it's still here - I think it's titles something like 'video clip of the Intimidator on a g' or something like that.

You can search for '9825463' - that is the user's alias...he posted a few clips if I remember correctly..one of them is pretty funny because he tried to run over his camera...

yeah, you'll make some up in the mid to high end but...

with hfc, you really don't lose anything, you just gain throughout the whole range. plus it costs less and its more stealthy
what high flow cats cost less than test pipes? then again i would only consider crawford and fast intention cats..maybe youre thinking of kinetix or something

humm...
