there are many after market CAI for our G, they all look allike to me, a long pipe with a cone filter, some suck air from engine compartment and some from a few inches off the ground. I understand they all try to make the engine breathe better to gain the hp. what is the difference from using a Z tube w/o resonator to disturb the air flow? the G's filter box is designed to squarely face front, how much more cold air you can get from cone filter? oc, you can argue the quality of the filter, but I think the G already has a good air intake design. for those CAI suck air from a few inches off the ground, do you really think in the hot days, the road surface is cooler than where stock air intake box is?
what is the designe merit for having the filter off the gound just a frew inches? if you drive in a snow day, wouldn't the filter be ruined in no time? your opinions please.

wow, no one has any to say about it? I guess everybody agreed that the so call CAI are just a waste of money? $300 only buy you a plastic/metal pipe,a cone filter and louder engine noise?
