Injen CAI

quick question, do you really really have to remove the front bumper to install the kit?

No you don't have to remove the front bumber. All you have to do is take the left front tire off and remove the plastic inner fender liner, the front half of it. Allot easier than the bumper and you can figure it out just by looking at it. When I did mine their was one member that said the did neither. But it's important to at lease remove a part of the foam block so that fresh air is let into the compartment. But I do not recomment removing the plastic part AND the entire foam block like the directions say. Just remove a chunk of the foam block thats is on the side of that plactic panel part.

Re: Injen CAI

I have the factory nismo front bumper and I'm planning to install Injen CAI. The thing is, after reviewing the location of the filter, I wonder if the CAI can actually get air from anywhere Unlike the factory front bumper, the NISMO one got plastic cover between the holes and we all know the bottom part is also covered with plastic. Do you think this will be an issue or it is just my theory

Re: Injen CAI

i just installed my injen cai yesterday and Id recommend not taking off the front bumper if possible. it took me longer to take off and put on the front bumper than it did to install the intake. thanks to volkracing for hooking me up w/ the intake for pretty cheap. that drive to hacienda was worth it. and say thanks to your brother mike for waiting for me on saturday. all in all though im very pleased w/ the cai. i can feel the extra power instantly and it sounds tite!

Yo Saikosol...
No problem man!!
Always glad to help a fellow g-owner out.
Sorry my brother didn' hear you come up the first time...who knows what he was doing...I wish I coulda been there but had a bday thing to go to that day. Give me a call next time you're in the neighborhood

when I Installed mine...I decided to go through the driver side fender liner. I was swapping headlights out that day to a pair of Philips 6000k bulbs anyway, so it was an easy choice for me to go that route....

Re: Injen CAI

No. I've installed 2 of them, both with removing the under cover and just pulling back fender well liner. Just enough to cut away part of the styrofoam and get the filter on.
