FI/Crawford HFC's
Hey Gang,
I've already got the Stillen CAI + cat-back dual exhaust and the Z-tube. I'm putting in the Motorydyne copper ISO thermal spacer this weekend too. I'm very close to buying the Fast Intentions or Crawford HFC's, as well as the Crawford headers.
Before I jump in, however, I've got some questions I was hoping you guys could help me answer. I've done a lot of forum hopping and saw some posts here and there but nothing that confirmed my questions. That said, here are my concerns:
1. The Stillen exhaust alone is a bit louder/aggressive but does not cause a drone in the cabin. Would the addition of the FI high-flow cats and headers cause a lot of cabin drone or simply a louder, more aggressive note? I'd like to hear from anyone who has these exact parts installed (if you're out there)...
2. Will the FI/Crawford cats + headers pass my state emissions test? I know this may be a tough one for you guys to answer but it's important for me to understand where I stand if I decide to install these. Maryland uses the OBD test where they plug right into the car's computer. I know I can just keep the old cats and swap 'em when necessary for testing...but is there a chance they FI or Crawford cats will pass the test okay? I think I've heard of a way to "trick" certain tests about the compound levels found in the exhaust...is that possible for OBD tests?
I can probably live with the emissions inconvenience, but the cabin drone may prove to be annoying....any comments are appreciated.
Thanks,
B
