Btw, checked Stillen's website today and it says "Comprised of a high-quality polyurethane intake port, washable and reusable cotton filter element, and STILLEN's signature Aluminum Venturi Ring, the Intake draws air from outside the engine bay."
So apparently it's not an oiled filter. So now the question becomes: is there any reason to use another filter at all?

+1 it is an oiled filter. I never had any problems with mine either. It was just time to clean it again and I was out of cleaner and oil so for a little more than a cleaner kit I got a dryflow.

Step 1) Fill bucket with warm soapy water.
Step 2) Soak and wash cone filter in warm soapy water for 15 minutes.
Step 3) Rinse cone filter with hose.
Step 4) Let cone filter dry in sun
Step 5) Re-oil cone filter
Step 6) Let freshly oiled cone filter sit for a few days in my garage
Step 7) Replace OEM air box with Stillen HiFlow Air Box.
So you can see it is a washable oiled filter.
