Im just trying to figure out why people would pay $300 for an intake such as Injen and others that look and function similar to filters that you can get in your local auto parts store for 25 bucks plus you can get tubing on ebay for another $25....
And I dont think the quality of cheap K&N type filters are any worse than the more expensive ones..
Am I missing something or people just like paying that mcuh for a name brand?

just because it sounds "great" doesnt mean they all sound the same.

ive heard k&n drop in, k&n drop in w/ pd delete, popcharger, stillen, weapon r, and a couple others.

no, they don't sound the same.

I have a cold air intake.....its not K&N but a similar one I forgot the name,,,but my point was they all sound similar because there are no air baffles that are on a stock tube so that creates more noise, and the filter is exposed and not covered so that creates even more noise ,,
