MREV2 Installed!!! Plus AAM ECU re-flash

What up everyone!!!

I just had the MREV2 insalled. My other mods include Z-tube, K&N drop in, and AAM's angled spacer. I also had the ECU re-flashed by Altered Atmosphere because I have an '04 non-rev 6MT and wanted to avoid the rough idle problems.

My impression:

Under 3000 RPMs:
Other than the car able to pull a little better above 2000 RPMs...its pretty much where the car was before.

Over 3000 RPMs:
All I gotta say is WOW!!! I was very skeptical about both mods, but now I'm a believer. The engine definitely GROWLS louder and the power and torque are very noticeable. The re-flash also lets me rev up to 7100 RPMs now. When I get the chance, I will go get the car dynoed. I know that it won't be anything really remarkable but just to see where the car is @.

If any of you guys were skeptical about the mods for a Non-rev motor, all I gotta say is DO IT!!!! You will not regret it.

mrev2 is a great mod...rev up or not. but if youre not a rev up, then the tune is necessary.

glad youre happy with your mods.

Congrats man.
Please post a dyno plot after you get it done...I want to see that. And of course DynoJet please!

G-Ride, the ECU re-flash is needed if you have a spacer and MREV2 installed. This is because we have the Non-rev engine in our cars, which means that our engine may run lean with the additional air provided by the Spacer and MREV2. The newer Rev-Up motors do not have this problem.

Someone else may be able to give a better explanation or you may want to search since there are so many threads on this.

^ I have a non rev motor and i was planning on getting both 5/16" spacer and a Mrev2 so my question is what is the average price you would be paying to get my G retuned once i have the spacer and Mrev installed?

Thanks, everyone. I will not be a statistic when it comes to killing my self in the G. LOL.

In regards to PetaG35's question, a spacer runs abour $200-300, MREV2 is currently $400 on EverythingG35.com plus there is a $125 rebate for your old lower plenum. In total, thats about $600 to $700 minus the $125 for your non-rev lower plenum. You should probably get them installed at the same time to avoid paying for an extra hour of mechanical labor. I didn't do this and learned the hard way. Oh well...can't cry over spilled milk.
A ECU flash runs about $500-600 depending if you could set up a group buy at Altered Atmosphere. The best part about Altered is that you can just drive there and they can plugged into your ECU and complete the Flash w/o having to remove your ECU. I don't remeber the other place that does a re-flash on our ECU, but search and you will find it.
All together, the parts and flash are about $1100-1300 not including labor. If you can find someone to do the install, you can save some mulah.

Good luck with your decision, bro. IMHO these mods have definitely been worth it.

How helpful do you think AAM's reflash was? I'm 10 minutes from their shop and was debating doing that too.
