Void warranty?....

Void warranty?....
Will a CAI void your factory warranty?. I called infiniti today and asked them. They said yes, any mod to engine would void the warranty. Any of you know this as a fact? I know alot of you have put CAI's on. Or if you have one on and have a warranty issue do you put your stock air intake back on before you take her in to the shop.
Thanks

Re: Void warranty?....
They can say that, but the Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act says it does not, unless Infiniti can prove that a failure was caused by your CAI.
Of course, if there were an issue, you may have to battle it, but unless you're doing serious upgrades, such as super/turbo charger, then you're not going to cause issues.
Intakes/Exhausts don't void warranties. Now, if you get a CAI that sucks air in from a low point, such as the wheel well, and run the car through deep enough water to suck water into the engine and cause hydrolock, that would void your warranty.
