Exhaust systems?

Hey enthusiasts, I'm thinking of adding an exhaust system to my Coupe and was wondering how people are liking their systems and which one seems best overall so far? I've been considering the Borla mostly because I had one before and loved it. What's the cheapest anyone has gotten the system for? On eBay it's like $795 I think. Thanks for any info.

Re: Exhaust systems?

umm whats is it u are looking for in ur exhaust. If u want it to be load i would recomend the RS*R exhuast or the Injen. If u want HP gains then i would say go for the Borla or the Injen or Stillen or deffently the nismo. It really depends on 3 factors do u want sound or performence or Both. and of course there is the issue with price. If u dont have a lot to spend i would say go for the injen or the Borla. either one will be great. Plus the INjen now has the stright tip desighn so if u dont like angled ones the problem is now fixed good luck

Re: Exhaust systems?

You should be able to find the Borla for $700 shipped or lower. BTW, I am extremely happy with my Borla, its not too loud and sounds very deep and aggressive. Only negative IMO is the many connections and clamps. I haven't had any problems, but you might want to consider welding it all in if you get it.

Love my Borla TD system. It's got looks, a more subtle tone altho louder than stock, and yields enough power that the 'butt dyno' will notice.
Yuichi at StictlyZ has them for under $750. That's where I got mine.

Re: Exhaust systems?

Cool thanks. I found it on the web for about $700 shipped. I wanted a more throaty sound without being too obnoxious. Quiet cruise sound is great with a roar when opened up. Are they all relatively the same weight reduction? And has the dealership given any of you beef about your warranty, etc?

Re: Exhaust systems?

I believe the Borla saves about 20 pounds compared to stock. As far as I know, the only exhaust heavier than stock is the Stillen, and its not by much. There is no way a dealer can refuse warranty work because of an aftermarket exhaust. It just changes the piping from the cats back, all your emissions equipment is intact. I have heard good things about the Injen as well, and now that they have gotten rid of the hideous angled tips you might want to check them out as well.

Re: Exhaust systems?

As far as warranty goes, the rule of thumb is

1) they wont fix your aftermarket stuff if it gets broken (duh)
2) as long as your addition didn't cause the problem, they cant refuse warranty service.

For example if you added an exhaust and the dashboard is making a squeeky noise, well you get the point.
