Injen CAI maintenance
Injen CAI maintenance
What's the standard procedure/timeframe for cleaning the filter on the Injen CAI? Anyone done this recently?
Thanks

if it looks dirty clean it and that filter gets dirty fast. Since the injen filter is pretty much just a K&N one. You can use the K&N filter cleaner and then apply the filter oil. All cleaning instructions and application directions are listed on the bottles.
Remember to clean from inside out. Do not shoot water from the outside in when rinsing.

Thanks for the quick response. Sounds pretty easy. The hard part is getting it out of there.

LOL oh ya I forgot about that. I pulled off part of the under tray along the bumper cover and got it out that way. Kind of bent it out of shape. I cleaned it and just put my stock intake back on.
when you get the filter off you'll see what I mean. Also run your fingers along the inside of the tubing, you might find metal shavings.
The best thing to keep your filter a little cleaner is to make some kind of shield that covers the front side of the filter. Just like a apron around the exposed part so it'll get the same air minus some of the debri.
