I think that's a valid point. But unfortunately most races don't start at 65mph

To me the price differance was not worth the money for noise, but you might think so. Yeah there is looks too so it's really up to you. Good luck.

I have the JWT pop and a polished z-tube.

I dont think the jwt pulls much if any hot air, the heat shield has some rubber bits that fit up against the hood when its shut. It seals up against the hood. There is a little space behind the filter where air could get in but the amount of area in the front is much larger and the oem snorkel on the car feeds through the heat shield.

i really dont think heat soak is an issue on the JWT. Its very well made looks great. It also sounds good. I havent compared it to others but I like it.

stillen loses top end gains because their airbox is restrictive up top and open underneath, which serves to pull hot air from the engine compartment

at least that was the theory behind jwt leaving it open... dynos don't lie (or do they? hehe)

Riverside INfiniti has the pop and stillen i belive around 90$? Anyways if anyone has some imput it would be highly appreciated. I looked in teh search but could only find opinions on which they prefer but not much on what they do that is different i thought the pop was the intake?
You might opt, as I did. I installed the Stillen Hi-Flow Air Box and after some time, I replaced the K&N filter cone filter with a popcharger cone filter.

Do a datalog and I can guarantee you at a stop and at speeds below 35mph or so, your motor is sucking in anywhere from 20 to 50 degree hotter air than the stock airbox is. At highway speeds, there's no difference.
