And notice his sig and avatar picture... He drives an 07 Sedan.

I guess I'm confused... you said the thread is dumb because people are talking about the coupe... the only coupe mentioned is what you quoted - which is what I was referring to.

Anyway - all the info I've read pertains to the OP's question... except the two posts each of us have made last (which I won’t perpetuate after this).

Yeah I understand,

It's just that I saw some references to the exhaust for the coupe.

I got a bit confused too.

Maybe or maybe not. I was just making a point to G35_TX that you don't necessarily have to try or own something to know it doesn't work or make the power as advertized.

I eagerly await a third party before and after dyno of the Stillen exhaust for the 07 sedan. I still stand by my original statement of 3-4hp, if you're lucky. After studying the Stillen exhaust, there's nothing different about Stillen's design over OEM other than bigger tubing which isn't always a good thing. We all know the results of Stillen's claimed 8-10hp with their CAI for the 03-06 Gs. You can claim anything when you throw in the words "up to" or "on our dyno".

You've studied Stillen's 07 exhaust?

Yep. Pretty easy to do when someone posts some quality side by side pictures. https://g35driver.com/forums/intake-exhaust/144882-impressions-stillen-exhaust.html

Another interesting note is that sedan owner ran a stock 07 sedan and could only pull a couple feet from 80-120mph.

They definitely look identical now. But I will say the ECU needs to adjust for the car to get its full power from the exhaust. My car took 100 miles to really start to wake up.

So you can't judge a race right after it was installed.

I agree.

Also, I'm not sure how much definitive info you can get from pics. Hard to imagine enough info to make the claim it's been "studied" and come up with concrete evaluations.

I completely agree, you can't. But obviously some think they can and think its a fact without holding it in their hands.

For anyone wanting to know if the 07 system is a POS... it is not. Anyone talking bs about it and dont own one cant really talk IMO. I love the system more and more. It definetly was worth the $$$. Stillen is a good brand..if you cant afford it then go buy a rice burner simple as that. You want the goods you gotta pay for them.

Um, how does owing the exhaust lend that much more credibility to the performance question? I don't see a dyno yet?

One can study the exhaust of the tube diameters, resonators and mufflers are known. I don't see the supporters specifcally giving any technical reasons why it would make gains. I'd love to read it if someone has an intelligent explaination or guess.

Why would anyone bother? It just leads to squabble with you and DaveB... It's a rhetorical question, you don't have to answer... and if you do I won't respond anyway.

Some people are just glass half empty type of people

I guess intelligent debate is too much of a stretch for ya. I've never critized intelligent opinion even if it leads to debate. It's the mindless drivel you two put forth that's unfortunate to this site.

Some people choose to buy things when the 3rd party results actually prove the gain are worthwhile, some people will buy the part simply based on the idea that it should work because there's an aftermarket part available and/or the stock part appears to be restrictive, and some people will buy the part simply because they're told it will work as advertized.

If someone has $1,100+ to throw down on an exhaust and they don't care if a dyno does not currently exist, then that's their choice. For me at least, I need to see the proof before tampering with what Nissan spent thousands of dollars R&Ding. If sound is all people really care about, then swapping the OEM mufflers would be far cheaper.

And I will eat my words if a third party Dynojet shows more than a 3-4whp gain. I've been wrong before.
