From my understanding its pretty labor intensive to install headers on a coupe. How much in labor should I be expecting to pay to have some installed? Thanks.

It's a few hour job, and it is real tight in there.

I was charged $300+ if I remember correctly. It was in the mid-300's. If I were you, I would get headers, high flow cats or test pipes, and exhaust all done at the same time. It is the best bang for your buck.

a shop down the street from me quoted me 1600. needless to say, i laughed in their faces. sorry, but i'm not going to pay over twice the cost of the headers.

'we don't work for free" :rolleyes"

well, if they keep charging that much they won't be working at all

Header's are not worth the cost unless they provided atleast twice more power than they actually do.

I can't justify paying over 1k for a performance mod that will give me 10-15 hp, unless, you can install it yourself. Very difficult without proffesional equipment though.

Is there any real risk of using aftermarket headers on the vq? If its high qulaity ss like fuji, nismo, stillen? is there any real risk to our engines when running w/ headers?

I know some have complained of craked pipes when using test pipes or high flow cats and was wondering if any such problems are likely to occur w/ headers?

I agree. I have the 3/8 from back in the day.

If I were to do it again, I wouldn't have gotten headers, the cost of the headers, plus install, to the amount of HP gain ratio is just not impressive. Though the sound difference is decent.

all in all, a good set of headers will cost you 1,000 dollars installed. Good headers run at least 450 new and the job will be about 500... Do that **** yourself dude it aint that hard, justa few hand tools are needed... It WILL take you all day though if you haven't done it before...

I paid $150 shipped for a set of used Ichiba headers. I then had them installed for free.

Of course, that was while my engine was out at the dealer for oil consumption

Damn, to many of you guys pay to have people do **** for you...Get the jack stands out and do it yourself. You dont need all the tools in the world, basically just a socket set and about 7-8 hours of your time.
