improving 07 sedan exhaust note...

i am a definite noob when it comes to the mechanics of an exhaust system, and I really want to create that FX/G coupe burbly growl in my sedan. the sedan has the growl, just not loud enough for my taste. everything else about this car is amazing, but i just want to louden that throaty growl. i do NOT want to switch out my exhaust for an aftermarket one.

thanks for any suggestions!

Get a 1/2 inch drill bit and put 3 or 4 holes in the resonator... this should do the trick.

of course. I am kidding.

If you are going for the fart-can exhaust effect...

Your Options Are Limited...

A) Drill Holes In Your Muffler/or Resonators
B) Put A Cd In Your Car With Cool Exhaust Notes
C) Buy An Fx45 Muffler Set Up And Start Learning How To Weld
D) Buy An After Market Exhaust

Has anyone heard the stillen exhaust? Does it sound like the G35 coupe/350Z?

Two options:

1) replace the mufflers with some higher end aftermarket mufflers. Preferably something made by Magnaflow. Stay away from anything that is a straight-thru muffler. This will give the most volume increase.

2) replace the resonators with shorter Magnaflow resonators. This will give the least volume increase.

I agree with you Balaji. It would be nice to have that stock FX/G Coupe sound but nothing more. (BTW, I saw Steves Audi RS4, wow 420HP )

I think it's your best deal for price, quality, and most importantly sound. Magnflow makes a bizillion different muffler and resonator sizes to best match what you need. I really like Magnaflow because I've never heard a car sound bad with their mufflers. Cobras, M3s, F-Bodies, Vettes, Hondas, etc. It's a healthy sound without the ricey rasp unless you choose to remove the resonators and greatly alter the stock layout.

DaveB,
I thought the popular Magnaflows were a straight-thru design? It's been a few years since I've looked into them when I put one on my SUV. Or are you talking straight-thru brands other than Magnaflow?
