throttle body spacer?

I haven't heard of any of you guys using one of these, so I wasn't sure if they were even made until I saw a couple on Ebay? So does anyone run one of these, or know anything about them? I know what it does because I had one on a previous car, but i'm just confused about them being made for our cars.

TB spacer? . . . What is its purpose? You have any pics available? Motordyne has a Copper TB Heater Plate, which is made out of copper.

AAM sells one but it is really just a small spacer with sveral vaccum ports on it so you don't have to use a bunch of "T" connectors for multiple accessories.

I have seen a number of them for sale. Doubt they will show any gains on the VQ.

Great idea for people who need more sensors, etc. I'm sure if it gave any Hp/Tq gains AAM would say something about it.

there has been moderate chat about it on my350Z... normally any interest fizzles... I always wondered if the flex in the Z-tube would be enough to accommodate the width of the spacer. They dont come with a shorter intake tube.

As for what is does, I've never really understood the purpose entirely either.

I know Sean Church has played with one on his 06 - said he got some nice gains. Not sure exactly what they were - but if I recall - it was about 8HP up top, and additional 10-12 TQ at the bottom...it really impressed him. FI cars, he said, will see much more. His was a red one - but not sure the manufacturer.

That's the best and only report I have seen on them...

A TB spacer can add that much power??? That doesn't sound right...

He must have done more than just a TB spacer to get gains like that... When he got that car he said he wasnt really gonna mod it much since it's a lease. I guess he's doing some minor stuff (or maybe he decided to buy another one?). I'm going to give him a call tomorrow... if this thing actually produces any amount of gains it's going to be good to know.
