Crack in plenum spacer

Do you guys think this will cause a leak? Its one of the smaller holes in the spacer. I just bought this used FYI. The gasket it came w/ doesn't cover that particular hole.

It will not cause a leak as long as it the inside isn't exposed to the outside. If that is brand new i would send it back though. If you torqued it to much and it cracked then i guess you are SOL, but it shouldn't cause a problem as long as the inside isnt exposed to the outside.

if the mating surfaces are smooth and the crack does not communicate between the inside to outside, then I'd think you could seal it back up pretty easily with some type of metal repair compound... (oh and don't try to put a bolt through there again)

Tough call . . . But for what it's worth . . . I would not risk installing it. My concern would be that a small piece could break loose and potentially find its way into the intake track . . . Just a thought.

It's the Skunk2 plenum spacer, so metal repair won't work. Maybe some JB Weld?

Just sent Skunk2 a message on their website for tech support. We'll see what they say.

isn't that the hole that holds the bolt for the engine cover (thats why your gasket doesn't have a hole there) ?

EDIT: my bad, that hole has nothing to do with the engine cover =P

The rear of the engine cover attaches to the rear of the upper plenum/collector at 2 locations. However, those 2 said bolt locations are some 2+ inches above where the spacer and plenum meet.

What I was trying to say in a light hearted way is . . . The said spacer location has no direct relationship with the engine cover mounting configuration . . . Ummm . . . You need to figure the rest of the story.

Edit: Hmmm . . . Or did I misunderstand your last comment? Oh well . . . Regardless, I trust that the OP gets his issue resolve soon.
