Installing MREV and plenum spacer...need help
So i'm installing the Motordyne MREV2 and 5/16" plenum spacer right now. Everything was going smoothly until...i dropped the 10 mm socket behind the plenum under the throttle body area, and it didnt' fall to the ground. I can't see it with a flashlight and i have no idea where it is or how to get it out? any ideas? Will it eventually fall out while driving or will is mess something up? thanks.
Hmmm . . . You may want to look around the top of the tranny housing. I hope you find that sucker. I would have to think that the socket would eventually drop out, but it would be in the back of my mind. Have you tried probing around with a magnetic pick-up wand?
Ouch! Just had a thought . . . If the socket drops out while you're at speed it could cause a bunch of damage to unsuspecting drivers behind you.
Good luck in finding it and enjoy your new Motordyne set-up. You are going to love it.
Edit: After you are finished with your MD install, you might try raising the front end up and hopefully dislodge the socket, if you have not found it by then.

has anyone installed their own sways and chassis braces. I tried with jackstands, but i gave up after not being able to break the bolts loose and couldn't get the car high enough for the mid chassis brace.
I didn't install the coolant control valve. I wasn't comfortable cutting tubes + i didn't have any sealant. Any tips on installing it? I wasn't able to get the intake tube off cuz it was in there too tight. I may get to it when my z-tube comes in.

The Motordyne CCV is one of the simpler installs. Reading that you have already installed the MREV2 and the 5/16" plenum spacer, the CCV will be a piece of cake. Prior to doing anything, assemble the CCV and the 2 barbed fittings with a RTV silicone . I used a Permatex Water Pump & Thermostat Housing RTV Silicone Gasket product. I assembled this assembly a day before. This will allow the the silicone to cure prior to the actual install.
When removing the intake tube, start at the MAF (front end). Once you have loosened the clamp, simply wiggle the flex connection rearwards. It will eventually wiggle free. Next, loosen the connection at the Throttle Body and grab hold of the intake tube and wiggle free, once again. Disconnect the emissions hose and you are ready for the next step.
Now, prior to cutting into the existing coolant hose, place the assembled CCV unit along side of the existing coolant line, which you will be cutting a small section out of, very soon. Spot a place to cut and install the CCV. Keep in mind that you will need to spot a location, which will afford you easy access via under the intake tube with a long screwdriver, for future closure and opening adjustments. When you have found the proper location, mark the existing coolant line at both ends of the CCV unit's barbed fittings. These 2 marks will be your cut marks. I used a sharp serrated steak knife. It made for very quick and clean cuts. Slide the 2 clamps down some 2 inches over the 2 open ends of the freshly cut coolant line and insert the barbed fittings into both coolant line openings, slide the clamps into position and you are finished. Prior to tightening the G or Z intake tube, check to be sure that the CCV unit is still in the proper rotation position to allow easy access with a long flathead screw driver. Congrats . . . You are done!

There was a very long thread on this topic in the Tech Area, last year, here on the 'Driver boards as well as the My350Z boards. You may want to perform a search or simply PM Tony (hydrazine).
Below is three runs overlaid to show the different stages with my car. All on the same Dyno and two runs same day also.
Blue Run: Ztube, JWT Popcharger, FI cats and catback system.
Red Run: Above plus 5/16 spacer and MREV2
Green Run: Above but swapped MREV2 for my version of the MREV2
Yes I lost peak hp but I like the torque curve better. A lot of people look at hp only and that's wrong. I believe that once you open up the flow from stock, the numbers after won't match the vendors numbers. Most calculate their numbers on a "stock" car, so if you have a mod already, you're not going to get it. NO RICER MATH please. I never tried just the spacer so I can't comment on that. Wish I did but it's too late now. I'm not taking out the lower plenum now. Hope I confused you.

I installed the Z-tube today, piece of cake. I don't know why I couldn't get the stock tube off the first time. I'll get to the CCV when I put my amsoil air filter in. Thanks for the install tips. Will the CCV make a big difference?
The z-tube makes a world of difference. I can now feel the effects of the 5/16" spacer and MREV2. I highly recommend these 3 mods.
RebelinRI, what is your version of MREV2? you got some really good gains and recovered the lost hp.
