popcharger whistle

just installed z tube and popcharger, what a difference in sound after 3000rpm. she roars and the revs seem to climb quiker.
i'm just wondering if any one else gets a slight whistling at take off and part throttle tip in at around 1200rpm.
i can only hear it with my drivers window open. i checked all connections and they are tight.
thanks jason for quick shipping of a great product. i highly recommend this set up really wakened up the motor. with the slight whistle it sounds like forced induction.

I get a whistle with the 350z and stillen too! I love that sound...had the nieces and nephews over on Sat night and a couple of them thought I had snuck a turbo in without the wifey knowing...

Re: popcharger whistle

Most aftermarket intakes will do this. Pop Chargers seem to be a bit louder than CAI's at idle, but that may just be due to the filter placement? And they do both defintely "wake up" at higher RPMS.
It is a very cool sound... VERY addicting =)

Re: popcharger whistle

Hi,
What the difference in performance between the PopCharger and Z tube and just K&N Filter and Z tube?

Thanks,
Xattica

POP-Charger. I wouldn't buy anything Stillen. I put my POP-Charger on tuesday, but I haven't had a chance to try it out yet, just around the block.

I got both at http://performancenissanparts.com.

$120 for Pop charger with G35 heat shield and $75 for the z tube.

I ended up getting the popcharger and Z-Tube at Performance Nissan Parts. Thanks! Can't wait for them to get here.

Re: popcharger whistle

I also ordered my Z-Tube and Pop-Charger over the holiday break. PerformanceNissanParts was definitely the place to go. Unfortunately the Pop-Charger manufacturer was closed down over the holiday and they were out of stock.

A very special thanks goes out to Jason at PerformanceNissanParts. Jason is super-friendly and very very knowledgable. I had accidently ordered the pop-charger and the K&N Filter. We were talking over IM at the time and he IMed me and told me that I didn't need it. Great guy and I highly recommend.

Will let you know how it sounds/feels after I get them in.

Re: popcharger whistle

Yes, Jason is very helpful. I was mistakenly thinking I would need the 350z popcharger since I was putting in a z-tube as well and he told me the popcharger is the same for both G and Z and I needed the G heat shield to fit into my G engine bay even with a Z tube.

I only get the whistle sound when I'm first accelerating and once I get to a higher RPM and hold it steady there the whistle goes away. That whistling really surprised me when I first heard it.

Re: popcharger whistle

If you're looking for the Z-tube check the FreshAlloy site. There's always a 350Z owner who's just installed a CAI and is looking to get rid of their's for cheap. I got mine for $65 shipped to my door.
