stillen high flow supporters?
Re: stillen high flow supporters?
I don't have an opinion on who is better but I do have the dyno sheets. It was my G sedan that did the test. I have seen nice power gains in hondas & toyotas with similar setups but we saw a drop with the high flow box. It has a nice sound but it hurts power all the way around. As many on this forum have stated the dyno does not lie...or does it?

Why would Stillen claim it adds 11 hp to the sedan it it lost
power? Something doesn't smell right about this.

IQ9,
Any chance you can post your dyno charts? Was your ECU reset? If so, for how long between pulls?
By your description, is it fair to say that you were part of last year's Sport Z Magazine Exhaust Shootout? Was your car the AT Sedan used for the Stillen CAI dyno test that was never published? Is there any truth to the rumor that the (your?) AT Sedan woudn't stay in 4th gear long enough to get a good set of pulls?

Re: stillen high flow supporters?
I am the unpublished oneI have kept my mouth shut for quite awhile about what took place. All runs pulled in third and the problem was the tester had to get used to the kick down in the Sedan AT. He was not an automat driver, pulled up in a M3. He felt all runs, after he got the hang of the, tranny were fine. Robert handled the ECU issue-we were not very rushed to do my car as the some of the exhaust systems took longer to install than expected,so we had cool down time. I expected a heathly gain but we just didn't see it. DaveO, I also did not want you to feel any disrespect due to my earlier post. I would love some ideas on how to get the gains. Right now I have the tube wraped in a DCI heat shield from Summit Racing but that did give back much.

IQ9,
I also do not mean any disrespect. I'm just trying to separate fact based subjective opinions from third hand info, heresay and rumors. Many members rely on the info gained from our posts to help make buying decisions. IMO, when we make sweeping conclusions on a modification or product based on one time results, or flat out hate for a particular company, we're not doing ourselves or our fellow forum members justice.
An example... If we selectively pick one or two old posts here and on my350Z, we could conclude that installing the Injen CAI results in stalling/idle problems and lost power. Is that conclusion correct? I don't think so!
I would still would like to learn the details of your experience. Perhaps we can determine some other possible reasons why your car lost power in addition to "Stillen's CAI is no good". I'd like to PM you with a few questions if it's ok.

Re: stillen high flow supporters?
Does the problem of a possible loss in HP/Torque apply to all intake systems, from a K&N and Z-tube combo through to Stillen and Jim Wolfe boxes all the way up to Injen and Nismo intakes? I have to share the blame of not having any dyno runs to guage the benefits, but it seems like there should be some data available to support this.

Please PM me. I'll give you all that I know and what I have experienced so far. I agree that many folks here rely strictly on what others say works and that may not always be the best thing to do.

Re: stillen high flow supporters?
I can't speak for any other intakes on this motor. I did not see the gains as advertised. I will work with DaveO and see what we can do. I will keep you posted.

Re: stillen high flow supporters?
Does anyone have pics of the new heat box for the JWT pop charger, the one that looks like the Stillen Air Box?
