Question 05 G35c-Exhaust-Headers-Cold Air Intake???

Hi,

I have had my G for about six months and I have not made any mods to the engine. I do not want to add a turbo kit or supercharger(As of now), I was thinking of maybe a full exhaust with headers and a cold air intake. I am trying to get from 298 HP to about 330HP. What type of gains should I expect from these mods? Do you recomend any specific brands- Injen,Aem,Stillen,Greddy,Hks???

Thank You Kenny...

You will also need a good tune with all thoughs breather mods and if you install them at the same time you will need a tune right away, but dont worry since it will add even more power gains to your ride

And since you have a rev up you should look into the M-rev2 and Motordyne Spacer just these 2 mods together can add big gains for its price

For intake the power gain difference between all set ups are very minimal so dont think brand will matter much when buying intake...but i like Nismo Cold air it looks nice, and injen it sounds nice

For exhaust i would have to put my vote for either Stillen or Fast Intentions, stillen has been dyno proven over and over to have one of the most power gains...Both exhaust sound really nice, its like the stock but much louder i prefer the looks of the fast intention though over the stillen

Don't go with injen or stillen. The rest are great. You can achieve 330 to the crank with just breather mods but you won't get 330 to the wheels there without FI unless you dump a ton of money on internals for NA (most would say it's not worth it). Do some searching this has been asked a number of times.

You get the most gains out of the NISMO and AEM CAI's and the HKS hi-power exhaust. Neither stillen or fast intentions can do better even though fan boys claim that they do. You won't need a tune but once you have your breather mods installed I would suggest a UTEC and a tune. It will awaken everything that you have installed.

you have absolutely no power mods so you have no room to talk. the poopcharger is not a power mod either just in case you attempt to argue with that.

There was an atricle in D-Sport's ,May issue that they installed breather mods on a 350Z.

Mod 1: JWT Pop Charger Air Intake claimed 14.4 WHP and 14 T over old stock filter

Mod 2: Apexi N1 Exhaust 4 WHP 0 T

Mod 3 Strup Headers & Cat delete: 10 whp 9 T

I wonder how loud that car was? I want power but not a ton of noise. If I wanted a bunch of noise I would have kept my Z. I would love an additional 30-50hp though.

^^

the 5/16" spacer + mrev2 are a suggested combo for revup engines.

you can still use the two together if you have a nonrevup, but it may cause you to run lean and youll need to have your car tuned.

I have a 2005, first I did the intake spacer and popcharger tube & filter.... can't say about power but it did sound nice when floored. Then I put on the fast intention exhaust, now I don't hear the intake anymore but the exhaust does sound nice, if a tad loud (I plan on sound deadening my trunk and I think that will make a big difference). I'm glad I didn't go with his catalytic converters because I think it definately would of been to loud for the wife....

I think this is about as far as you can go before some serious bucks. The only thing left that I'd do is the ECU but I got a new car for going fast (240hp stock S2000motor/1200lbs) so I think I'll leave things as they are...
