spacer/mrev questions

I have an 05 6mt and want to do a couple mods. I am not very familiar with everything out there for our car so I wanted some help. First I was just going to go with a CAI, but from what I have read that is just for sound. If i read correctly it sounds like what i should get for a decent hp/torque gain is the mrev/mrev2 and spacer. Honestly I don't even know what they are so I am asking which ones I should get and a basic explaination on what they are/what they do. Are they easy to install or are there any people who can install it in so cal for me?

there's a ton of info on here and 6mt.net. from what i've heard/read, making sure proper torquing is applied is key. good luck...i'm gonna do it soon

MREV2 is a modified non-revup lower plenum. the spacer is just that...a spacer between the upper intake plenum and lower plenum. gheck out the motordyne website for more info. i bought the combo and installed myself. you need some basic wrenches/extensions and a in-lb torque wrench.

yes i think it's safe to say that. it's def better than intake+exhaust alone. i have also have a z-tube and amsoil drop-in filter. I plan on gettin an exhaust too.

thanks for the help. i kinda get it, at least more than i did. But what is the difference between the 5/16 and 1/2. why would you want one over the other?

the 5/16 allows you to retain your stock engine cover and the 1/2 does not.

1/2 yields a lil more power to the lower end i believe.

izmir....do you know if mrev2/spacer mod will pass a smog? no one seems to know...

jeff, check this thread:

http://www.6mt.net/forum/g35-coupe/15651-mrev.html

in particular, check Neal376's explanation as it's pretty detailed. keep in mind certain mrev mods yield better results for the revup or mrev engines. happy reading.

If you have the Revup engine you want the Mrev2. I plan on getting it one of these days also. Dont waste your money on a CAI unless you want the noise. A drop in K&N filter and a 350Z intake tube works just fine.
