Cold air heatshield/bypass valve

Sup guys, question regarding the K&N typhoon CAI and such, i have had the short ram set up for the past 4 months and im looking to extend it to the bumper to see the difference, only thing im worried about is the hydrolocking and such. Anyone know where to get a bypass valve for the intake? and does anyone have any experience with them? (im wondering if they really work).

Also, i had it CA back when i first installed it and the car turned off at highway speeds like it was expected too =\.....so im wondering, where can i get heatshield for it, or what do the injen CAI owners use? i know that was a common issue for injen users - but not sure if the solution is the same for the K&N intake.

you need the aem bypass valve. like found here:
aem bypass valves

the shutting off was due to cruising at higher speeds and pushing hte clutch in. the car would actually stall out cause the rpms would drop to low. you could get your idle bumped up a little to solve that problem. not sure what else anyone did about the stalling issue cause i have an at and the problem didnt concern me.

Dude you don't need a bypass valve. The bottom of the air intake sits about 18" up from the pavement. What is easier for the car to suck in, air or water? Air of course. Unless you are planning on driving through some massive puddles, like over a foot deep, you are not going to get any water up in there. And if you are driving through puddles that deep, you are going to have a lot more problems. Trust me, I live in Miami and have been in south florida all my life. I have had exprience with multiple cars with CAI's, and never a problem. My friend has a Z with Injen CAI on it and drove it even during the year with all the hurricanes down here, and no problem.

Of course you can do what you please. Just my 2 cents. And who am I anyways. I just bought my G and have yet to do the upgrade myself to this car.
