Hey guyz,
I am not known to have modifications or at least performance modifications but i have done it now!
Hehehe. See Link for pictures:
SEDAN BORLA PICS/ VIDEO
I will post a write up in a couple of days. But just some answers to questions that ppl might be asking. yes it is not as loud as stillen(better for daily driver) but it does have a deeper tone(which might make it sound louder). THats it for now. I will post more later!
P.S. I wana thank Jason at Performance Nissan for helping me install this! thanks!
P.S.S. I know you will want to know where i got this from so......I got this from conceptzperformance. They have a good deal going.

Your pic's are better than mine (12/24/03)! Don't you love the
sound? I also have the K&N Typhoon cai/sr installed, and when
they both start working(3500-4000 rpm) all the way up
to 7000+, it's music to a driver's ear. Have you or anyone
dynoed the Borla dual sys. yet? Thanks to DaveO, i did the
ecu procedure and it moved the shutoff to 7200rpm. Thats
been 3wks now and my exh. tips show rich again (very black)
Good luck with your 04.

"no way does it make more power than stillen!"
The exclamation point almost makes it sound like that's a good thing. BTW, what were your reasons for choosing Borla over Stillen? Guess I'll see your answers soon enough in your write-up. Can't wait! Cheers!

Well, I knew that the Borla would not be as loud as Borla. I also knew that Borla is known to have a deep sound. It sounds nice but it could be annoying!
If you need anymore sounds clips or where you want me to do, just ask!

Here is my feel on the Borla Exhaust system.
INSTALLATION :First I went to Performance Nissan to Install this part. Jason was very helpful and the service department was very courteous. The install went great except for that the Y piece after the Stock Cat did not want to fit on right. SO after a little drilling to make the hole bigger, it fits! After that I got kicked out and I heard the car come out and honestly, it is not too loud from the outside.
SOUND : Then I took it out for a spin, it does drone a bit around 1500-2800 rpm. That droning sound is like a DEEP toned. This makes it seems like its loud but it really is not. Then after 3K, I can’t really hear the exhaust anymore because I have the pop charger on. It is basically the engine noise rather than the exhaust noise after 3K. But I have heard it from the outside and it sounds GOOD to me! More like a racing car(not loud but clean tone). I got use to the deep toned and it does not bug me as much anymore. It is definetly softer than still and more livable for a daily driver like myself. Personally I think it sounds almost identical to the BMW stock exhaust(330i) but Borla is deeper!
Performance : I cannot really feel any low end pull from the exhaust from Borla. All I hear is deep toned. Then after about 3K, it opens up and pulls. Clint(who has driven my car quarter miling) and I say that it pulls more and pulls all the way to the end now. I feel that there is some HP gain but probably not as much as Stillens. Since this exhaust is cheaper than Stillen, I think the HP gain is good for the price!
Clint, Gurgen and I met and was discussing about this. We then compared this to stillen and Stillen is by far more throatier and louder. Gurgen Floored his car and we could hear the exhaust all the way through the band, but Borla exhaust, we could hear mostly engine and some exhaust. Clint brought his decibal meter and basically it turned out that Borla is about 10dB lower than stillens. I forget the nuimbers but I think its about 100 dB when I floor it outside and about 90dB inside! Stillen is about 10dB more as I had said before.

that is a very good and helpfull review. could you comment on how the stillen's sound compares to your borla with normal driving rpms around 1400-2500rpm. thanks.
Stillen is very throaty and loud and Borla is more Deep toned. Basically from about 1800-2200, Borla is very DEEP but after that its in the clear. After that all i hear is my intake sound(Pop charger)!
Hope this helps! If you want i could tape it 1 more time! Listen to my normal driving one!

from what i read the stillen mellows out after about 500 miles or so. does the borla do the same?

The Borla is definitely quieter compare to Gurgen's Stillen. This is *Gurgen's* Stillen, however, which has the RT Cats and many other mods that makes it exceptionally LOUD! It is therefore not a good point of reference for sound and performance comparison. Because of this, I'm not able to offer an unbiased oppinion until I get a ride/drive of someone else's car w. only the Stillen Exhaust. I can say, however, the Pop charger + Z-tube induction noise over shadowed the Borla exhaust note as RPM builds towards the redline and this is both from the inside as well as the outside. Slight low-end drone is present and sounded perhaps a bit generic, but once past 3k it is defintiely sweet. Again, it was tough to hear it over the Pop Charger since the Borla seemed to make more noise down in the low frequency spectrum. Those coming from stock *sedan* exhaust may interpret this as being fairly loud initially (myself included) ... that is untill you get into Gurgen's car!
Edit: I should add ... it reminded me of the HKS muffler I've tried a few months back, both in sound quality and sound level.
