Spacer question
Spacer question
I just installed my 5/16 iso copper spacer. Ive got a pop and Z tube. Ive noticed after the install that when I hit the gas about 1/8 or less that I get a high pitch sound kinda like a turbo. I think its my pop charger sucking more air into the plenum with the spacer. Ive just never heard it before while I wa driving with the windows down. I cant hear it with the windows up and it only happens when I hit the gas. I just want to make sure I didnt F something up.
Thanks
Thanks

same sound with stillen intake, z tube and spacer. It just started happening one day and I was thought it was the belts.....I was like no way could the belts go bad over night. It's definitely the intake and you can only hear it when you on the gas a little bit.
Just got mine installed today at Infiniti of Riverside. I got the Motordyne 5/16 iso copper spacer and Stillen Z tube intake combo.. i got the same suction/whistling sound and i love it! LOL sounds mean!
c'mon ttrank, you're an aersospace engineer and you let jmonsale beat you to the punch with the technical reason?
but ya all you're hearing is the air flow increase in velocity as it moves through the nozzle-shaped pop charger. its a nice touch.

same here, i got the ztube, jwt pop, md 5/16 and nonrevup lower. i get the whistling sound at lower speeds, although its gona away a little bit recently. Probably due to the fact my filter needs good cleaning.
not to hijack.. but i noticed that the skunk2 plenum spacer comes with hardware to bypass heating the TB. The motordyne one comes with that copper thingy to specifically heat the TB (i live in NE ohio and need that)..
What is usually heated that these spacers are supposed to bypass? and although I understand that the TB needs to be heated in the winter, why does the skunk2 specifically bypass that?
