Titanium Vs. Stainless

Dose anyone have a titanium exhaust? I was talking to the great guys @ Bulletproof and they were recommending two titanium exhausts one was the R1 by Amuse and the other is by Top Secret. I know the main thing to be gained from a Ti exhaust is weight savings but how much difference dose a lighter exhauxt really make for those of us that are not trying to shave .10 sec? What about the sound from a Ti exhaust?

I LOVE the look of the R1 Amuse but is 2Gs wirth it???

The titanium exhausts are nice and look sick..but most of them ive seen are pretty loud since most of them dont use a resonator..if your lookin for ***** out performance then get a Ti unit but if you wants something quiter get a SUS unit.. Um something maybe like Ducatiguy's Im not sure what brand is his but it sounds real nice...

Re: Titanium Vs. Stainless

Are you saying that if the two units were exactly the same in design except for the material that the Ti unit would produce higher gains?

I'm assuming that the weight savings on a Ti unit is so large that you could notice a difference right?

Re: Titanium Vs. Stainless

well, not sure if you'll "feel" the weight savings but if you want to lighten up your car, every little pound helps. If you have the money for it, you can save around 200 pounds pretty easily...after that..it's gonna cost you a lot of money or require changing the car itself. =P

Re: Titanium Vs. Stainless

i think what he means is 200 lbs over the entire car not just from the exhaust.

Re: Titanium Vs. Stainless

My sponsor has the Amuse R1 titanium on his G coupe. It's the best sounding exhaust I've heard, and looks plain SICK!

Re: Titanium Vs. Stainless

Hey Moog thanks for the reply. You said your sponsor has the R1. How loud is it compared to the stock or the Stillen Cat Back, or the Borla True Dual? Do you know how much he paid for it? Do you gain the claimed 11hp from just going with the exhaust system or do you have to buy the other parts to take it from the cat? Sorry for all of the questions but just trying to get good infor before I drop 2Gs.
