Sorry, but this post is funny...I have an SC and no testpipes - so why would it make sense that just because a grounding kit and an intake was put in place, that testpipes would be as well??

That's almost like saying - You're wide awake now, so it's possible your eyes are blue...

You know...a completely blind assumption....

Didn't mean to ras ya...but

Why would the engine cover be missing...The exhaust tips seem stock. I wonder if any codes are being thrown.

Rasp comes from:

1. no muffler (open exhaust)
2. no CATs (test pipes)

Just a shot in the dark...are you sure it's exhaust? Our clutch is noisy too...some sound like rocks rattling in a barrel!

Open exhaust will NOT make a raspy sound. The only way our cars make raspy noise is if u take the out resonator and leave the stock muffler in. Or have a exhaust leak.

Almost completely right...

You will rasp to hell with the stock system if you remove the stock resonator completely! Add testpipes and you will get some rasp as well. You will not get as much rasp with the testpipes, but you will get rasp - if resonated testpipes are there - likely no rasp at all, depending on which ones.

Without the stock resonator - OMG! you will hate life...

Where is the resonator in the system? I was under the impression that it was in the muffler??

it's between the Y-pipe and the muffler, approximately in the middle of the wheelbase.

It's basically oval in shape, 14 inches long and about 3 1/2" round...

So when you install an aftermarket, CAT-back exhaust, they include the resonator?

OK -

So catback exhausts are all mostly designed differently. Some have resonators, some don't - some only have mufflers, some have both - some have only resonators - some have only pipe.

The factory system in this case - goes from CATS to a y-pipe - to the resonator to a dual exit single muffler.
