HFC/Durability help

I May be purchasing an exhaust soon. I was considering ordering some HFC, but some post got me scared. Some mention that the durability are not as good as the OEM(s) and some have rattling issued from the CATS. I am curious to how many members with HFC occurred this rattling noise. The main reason for ordering HFC are to enhance the sound of the exhaust.

aftermarket cats aren't going to last as long as your oem cats.

i've had good luck with fast intentions 300 cell metallic cats.

What do you guys think that buzzing/rattaling sound is members experiance. Do you think it is simply the free flowing air or the internals breaking appart and making noise?. ALSO will HFC pass NYS emmisions?. I am not worried about the visual inspection-Just the emmisions.!!!

That sound is simply just rasp. It's a characteristic of most test pipes, although its less obvious in resonated test pipes.

I was thinking about getting resonated test pipes... but rasp will ALWAYS be there. I have heard so many claims of no rasp from many resonated TP's, but the rasp is always there. Some have very little rasp... but thats enough to sway me to HFC.

I would look into resonated TP's or HFC from Fast Intentions if I were you.

Goodluck.

The only time I noticed any smell was right after initial install for maybe a week or two... after that it disapated. This is my daily driver and I have no issues with them at all and I have roughly 45k miles on them.

If you are going to get HFC's get a nice set...stillen just came out with HFCs and they are metallic, which is better than ceramic. You will pay more for ceramic, but they will last much longer.

I think the only company that says their cats are 50 state legal is random technology, other than that most will not pass.

Well If HFC do not pass emmision, then why bother?. I would have to change then out every time i get my inspection. If that is the case, I might as well keep OEM cats OR intall test pipes and save money. Are you guys shore HFC will not pass emmisions in NYS>
