CAI causing a loss in HP/TQ??

Ive heard that using a CAI with the Motordyne spacer and mrev2 will cause a loss in power...anyone have knowledge/experience with this?

I think i might have to go with a pop charger now, wanted to go with an Injen CAI before

Eh... don't go with a CAI for many reasons. You can search that up.

Going with the pop-charger might be as bad a choice; it has an AWFUL heat shield.

I would recommend the Stillen (as its similar to OEM design) or the stock airbox with a drop-in filter.

Goodluck

cai makes the car draw air further from the throttle body, its sucking air through a straw

What straw.......?

With the MotorDyne spacer & MREV2 you're better off having an intake like
Stillens CAI/Z-Tube. And without an exhaust system you won't realize
the full potential of the G or the mods you've installed. It all works togeather
to give your G35 more HP!

Installing it is very easy and straight forward. I just hated the part where you have to align the filter with the body of the intake; it was a little annoying.

I got it installed in 1 hour because I took my sweet time.

The MREV2 and spacer will make a lot more gains than the long tube CAI will lose so overall it will gain... but I've dynod the long tube CAI's many times and they lose about 3 HP weather you are fully stock or fully modified.

For best performance and cleanest air filtering, my preference is the stock air box with "absolutely clean and new" stock air filters. (note: once the stock filters get dirty their flow rate declines rapidly)

For greatly enhanced induction sound, I'll use the Stillen.

I have an AEM cai, emptied out cats, and stillen cat back on my 05 6mt coupe, and I have also began to feel the car slowing down, specially after an IS250 beat me.... you guys think that I should get rid of the 2nd piece of pipe on the cai and let it breath the hot air inside the engine compartment??? I now that the stillen airbox is the best, but I'm broke right now....

Right on. Some cars take advantage of CAIs and aftermarket intakes, but the VQ35 in the G/Z is one of those cars that seems to perform best with the stock or slightly modified verison of the stock intake. There are couple things you can do to the stock airbox to get a deeper sound if that's what you're after.

What's your opinion for the Amsoil OEM replacement filter? I've ordered one to replace my OEM paper filter. I don't expect any additional power, but if it's anything like my old K&N filter, there may be an additional sound increase.

Want your power back? Put the stock intake back on and replace the gutted cats with either the OEM cats or at least HFCs. It appears that you've greatly impacted the exhaust velocity to the point that you're sub 4500rpm power is severely lacking.
