Maintenance of the CAI?
Maintenance of the CAI?
Posted now because a search didn't yield anything. Now that I've got my Stillen CAI installed, how do I maintain it? Do I take it out occassionally and wash it or just leave it alone.
TIA

Re: Maintenance of the CAI?
if it gets dirty, the best thing that I have found is to take the filter out and use the K&N cleaning/oiling kit. Autozone has them. You spray the cleaner on the filter (after dislodging the dirt), let it sit, spray the filter off from the INSIDE OUT ONLY and then oil lightly. Works well so far.

Re: Maintenance of the CAI?
Of course Stillen did not include maintenance instructions.
I plan on following K&Ns recommendations, let it go 50-100K
miles before cleaning. Up to a point, the more dirt on the outside
actually improves filtration.
