Headers and CATS
Headers and CATS
What headers does everyone have, and what add the most horsepower on the market right now?
What exactly are high flow cats? What do they do, and how much hp do they add? What ones are the best, and how much $$? thanks.

Re: Headers and CATS
High flow cats are a pipe that replaces the pre-cat and primary cat, on a car with just a single cat. So the exhaust flow is improved and horsepower is gained. The downside is they make your car louder since more flow is made. Random Technology makes them for the 350z/g35. They are supposed to make 7hp to the wheels. Also if you live in California they may not pass smog. But as long as you keep the stock unit you can bolt that one back one when it's time for smog. As far as price on average high flow cat are about $600.

Re: Headers and CATS
there's also a cheaper alternative to high flow cats from kinetix racing. They look more OEM so it might pass visual and sniffer tests in California without having to replace your real OEM ones... The gains on the Kinetix ones are supposed to be just a good as the RT but don't quote me on that, I don't have first-hand experience.
Re: Headers and CATS
Our stainless headers for the G35 add 9-13 hp, and 15 lb/ft.
$795 plus $35 shipping.
Let me know if I can answer any other questions. The high-flow cats are a good idea as well, as the previous member pointed out.
