Re: Slower after Borla install...

I do have SOME good news. I reset the ECU after I installed my hyper grounding/earthing kit. The my 6mt seems a little more responsive. The only problem is I don't know if the improvement is due to the resetting of the ECU or the addition of the Hypergrounding kit. Its probably a little of both. Well, for now I am just going to leave the car alone. Except for a CAI, and some 19s, and a new front bumper. LOL!!! LOL!!! Why is this so addictive? Someone please stop me before I screw up the entire car. LOL!!! Thanks for all of the great posts on the thread. I hope to meet some of you at the next so. cal. gathering. I'm looking forward to my first one. Happy driving...

sdgee,

you forgot to mention nismo heavy duty clutch, lighten flywheel, greddy tt, etc.

hahahah...u r dangerous to yourself man. but good luck with your mods.

the information given from this thread, if i decided to stay with na, i will go with the nismo exhaust. if i turbo charge, then maybe either borla or injen. Just waiting to see if greddy will pass the carb certification.

Hey Eric,

Thanx Again for the purchase, and your exhaust HP, and sound will get better over time. The Borla System is top notch, and is a great system. The only complaint I have about it, is that it comes in pieces, thus it's like a puzzle to put it together. But other then that it's a great system, and many 350Zers have decided that they are the best to use with Turbo Charged Systems (ie: Greddy Setup). Thanx Again Eric, and if you want that pulley set, you know who to call

Coz

I agree with Philthy, the Borla exhaust is made well and the fitment was excellent. I think I got a great deal at $650 shipped. I am very happy with the Borla. With the Injen CAI my G has plenty of "umph". I don't notice any loss of power.

Re: Slower after Borla install...

I'd most definitely do an ECU reset and then drive it for a couple of hundred miles before truly evaluating the performance gains. Lots of guys with exhausts, cats or plenum have seen gains just by letting the ECU adapt for a period of time (though not alot have done dynos with no mod changes with only a week or two time between).

The Borla will give you gains, and I've seen it consistently on dynos--somewhere in the range of 7-10 HP. Torque will very slightly drop under 1800 RPM at full throttle, but not many people in daily driving nail the throttle at low RPMs.

Just a couple of observations.

Re: Slower after Borla install...

Hey Coz,

I wasn't calling you out. The service and price I got from U was great! Especially you taking the time to listen to me after I had a complaint. It was bassically a knee jurk reaction on my part. My butt dyno is highly calibrated. I do a lot a city driving so even a minor low end loss is noticable and improtant to me. I do notice a difference to the + side in power and acceleration from 45mph to 100+. Which is great when merging on to the freeways in So. Cal. with people whizzing by at 90+

I'll definately buy from you again and would recommend you to my pals.
