Do Headers Off 350z Fit G35?
I strongly discourage headers. The only reason I have my headers is because I got them for $150, and because the installation was free. I had the headers installed when my longblock was replaced. After I received my new longblock and had my headers installed, my car was down about 10hp/10tq across the entire rpm range. Some part of that discrepancy can be attributed to the new engine, but I can't believe that the new engine was down so much power.
Also, I now have no low end torque. I don't mean that I have no torque at 2 grand; I mean right off idle. For example, if I just come off the clutch and I'm basically rolling at idle rpms, if I stab the throttle, nothing happens until about 1200rpms. Fortunately 1st gear is short enough that it's not that big of a deal, but that lack of immediate torque makes crossing busy highways an adventure. And it's not the lightweight flywheel nor the test pipes; this didn't start happening until I got the new engine.
Honestly, I really see no benefit to headers. If you search long enough, you'll find plenty of dyno charts that demonstrate X gain with headers. Well, here's a chart that shows that on this particular car, headers didn't help at all: http://www.my350z.com/forum/showpost...3&postcount=27. In fact, the headers produced some weird effects at various points in the rpm range.
In my case, I've got Ichiba headers. Maybe I would have had different results with a non-knockoff brand, but I have my doubts. For example, here's a thread about Crawford headers(widely regarded as the best for the g/z): https://g35driver.com/forums/showthr...light=crawford. The pictures are no longer available, but the information is still there.
I think the money is better spent towards test pipes and/or a piggyback+tune.

HR will not bolt up to a DE without some work. You will need to move a couple studs on the heads to bolt them up, and would need to run HR cats as the flange is different. I have seen guys swap flanges to run DE cats.
