Connecting G35 PCV hose to 350Z intake tube
Connecting G35 PCV hose to 350Z intake tube
I don't think that I can find what I am looking for in an answer nor do I think that I have seen it in the past so I will ask. I know that many of you hvae installed the 350Z intake tube to your G35 and I was wondering since the stock setup has the PCV hose connected on top of the tube and the 350Z connects on the bottom I am sure that you have run into the problem of the PCV hose crimping up on you. I was wondering other than cutting the hose if anyone has found another solution. I would rather not cut it if I don't have to. Thanks!

I did not have to cut it, you can work that slack back towards the firewall.

Yea, no reason to cut it. Just connect it and work it down under.

No need to cut it. The only other alternative is to get the hose from your Nissan parts supplier for the Z. I actually looked at buying one last week. Retail is around $17. Unless you are showing your car, I do not see any reason to do that. The one that is on there will work out for you just fine.

are you sure Raven? thats the MAF sensor i believe, without it the car wont even run in gear.....
maybe you just forgot that you connected it, because its now hidden underneath, its a simple plug-in that takes 1 second to do..... i think you just forgot that you did it. But check just to make sure. Let us know. Thanks

Re: Connecting G35 PCV hose to 350Z intake tube
Im about 99% sure that i did not connect it..the reason why i know this is because when i was installing...i remember saying...Where the F does this hose go? I remember looking on the Z tube and not finding a hole for the hose to go.....i put in the Z tube like a month ago and the G runs fine...i hope im not causing any damage....

Re: Connecting G35 PCV hose to 350Z intake tube
I would think the only danger in not connecting it, is that you may be sucking junk in the air into your engine. The PCV inlet bypasses the air filter. The hose side is going to vent noxious fumes into the atmosphere.
Re: Connecting G35 PCV hose to 350Z intake tube
It also acts as crankcase ventilation. I would definately attatch it ASAP. If not, the engine could blow a valve cover gasket. (not likely unless you have FI, but still possible) Pressure builds up in the crank case, and this tube helps to relieve that pressure by sucking it into the intake. It is also a vent for emissions purposes.
