I don't think there really are any negative factors. The only one I can think of is the stock strut bar not fitting with the 1/2" on the 350Z.

i love my AAM, dont belive the dyno sheet that were done by the "individual", ie Motordyne. They always make their product look better than others... I would too... anyways, the installation is very simple... only bad thing is that if you over torque the screws, you are pretty much screwed.... I think AAM produces great product, I have not had ANY problems with their product. Good luck.

Just a FYI.

I didn't do the dynos. Sport Z Magazine (now Nissan Sport Magazine) did the comparison and published the results in their mag.

hp gain is really going to depend on what you already have. i didnt see what you had so ill just tell you that if you go t z1motorsports.com they have a dyno chart of the aam spacer with a g that wasnt modified (i think). It gain 15hp and a little over 6tq. I went with the aam.

If you have a 2005-2007 coup 6MT you have the REVUP engine.
And if you have a REVUP engine, the best intake combination is the MREV2 with 5/16" spacer.

It will make no less than 15+ HP and 18+ TQ.

A spacer or plenum (by itself) on a REVUP engine doesn't make any gains. It has to do with the design of the stock revup lower plenum. To make gains, a MREV2 must first be installed. Then a spacer makes a difference.

The MREV2 will make a lot of TQ and midrange power. Adding a spacer to it will increase the top end HP. The combination of the two is when it makes the most gain. More gain than any other bolt on short of nitrous or FI.

And it doesn't affect injector performance at all. None of them do.

Laws completely vary from region to region. So that part varies.
A smog tech or cop is highly unlikely to know if its installed. Even if they are looking right at it.

The emissions are not affected in any significant way. If you can pass the sniffer without a plenum mod, you will pass with it.

Plenum mods don't do much (if anything) to the emissions.

tony I dunno if u already answered this question in another thread, but how do u think the cosworth plenum will compare to the mrev2 and 5/16 spacer combo on a revup? Are the gains likely to be felt under different places in the power curve for each setup do u think? (md-low and midrange, cos-up top)?

Are u or anyone else planning on doing some shootout testing when the cos starts shipping? Thx!

I have been curious about the Cosworth plenum too. And I get the feeling (my speculation) is they've had a good reason for not releasing it yet. It was announced over a year ago at SEMA but still nothing.

IMO - To really satisfy the VQ market it will have to perform significantly better to justify the cost. ...Achieving that goal may be more difficult than first appears.

Cosworth probably knows what happened to the reputation of Kinetix when independant dynos of the SSV started getting posted by forum members. ...Cosworth probably doesn't want anything to do with that.

As far as a comparative test is concerned, I don't care who does it as long as its a fair and well controlled test.

Gotta be careful of ECU randomness though. For the test, I suggest using a EMS like Fcon, Haltec or MoTec. That way there won't be any ECU variables randomly moving around to skew the results.

There you go, now you can install the best spacer and not get screwed on
the price. You didn't mention what year G you have but if you have an '06
or newer go with the MREV2 and 5/16" spacer. This is the best bang for
your $$! Now when you get the intake and exhaust system you're G will
perform almost as good as mine.....almost.

Anyone know the answer to this? I would assume that it does just because you are adding more air into the equation therefor needing more fuel but I dont know for sure.

No. It doesn't change the fuel economy unless you really get on the gas. For regular cruising it doesn't make a difference.
