coupe exhaust on sedan? anyone do this?

yes, i have searched for this w/o any luck. i have an 04 sedan and want to put coupe exhaust on it. i know about the evap thing and all that. everything i searched said there is not enough room for another rear section/muffler. what if we used the other style cans like the stock or borla style and banged in the spare wheel well? would there not be enough room? other than that is the coupe exhaust the same as sedan, ie: the length to the motor the same? i realize the rear bumper would have to be modified but thats no big deal. i would like to do this w/o messing with the evap system/box. has anyone thought of this or tried it? any input would be appreciated, thanks.

if you want to go for looks just do a custom dual exhaust -- it's not impossible you'll lose your rear toe hook though

short and quick answer: no.

Someone in this forum tried that before with a custom exhaust, but he ended up with a coupe midpipe + HKS rear section now. Hope this says something to you about the feasibility of the project that you want to run.

try to do it. use the stock coupe exhaust and give it a shot.

everything can be done . Cut some of the rear bumper if you have to.

once its done you will be very happy if all goes well

or after several hours you might realize that its not worth it, and Stillen and Borla make excellent exhausts for the sedan.

So you don't mind banging on the spare tire well and destroying it, thus, causing you to be without a spare tire, AND you don't mind modding the rear bumper, BUT you don't want to mess with the evap system?

You will have to move the fuel evap system and cut up the spare tire well. If that is worth it, go for it...

we're gonna check it out first and if its too much work, i'm not gonna bother with it. i don't mind the spare tire well, i can put that in the truck worst case. i know a guy who can do the bumper for cheap. what exactly is the evap box and how hard is it to move? if this turns out good i'll post pics for sure. thanks for the input
