Z Tube whistle/chirp

I doubled checked my install tonight, and the tube is extended all the way on the airbox and manifold ends. Whenever I step hard on the accelerator, I hear a quick chirp, regardless of rpm. It's most noticeable if I'm trolling along in 3rd at like 15-20mph, then step hard on the gas. Then when I cross 3200rpms, it chirps again. It's faint, but high pitched enough for me to notice if the moonroof or windows are open. Does this whether the engine is cold or warm, clutch in or out in any gear. Is this normal?

I have not done an ecu reset, as I assumed it wasn't necessary for such a basic mod.

chirp? are there birds in your engine bay? or are you chirping the tires?

hmm, never heard anyone describe an engine sound as a chirp... sounds like something odd, try to put back your stock intake tube and see if it happens. Inspect your Z-tube, make sure there are no defects in it. Then try your install again.
If all else fails, see the dealer

I would call it a chirp. That is normal. It whistles, and if you step on the gas quickly it does give a short whistle/chirp.

mine does the same thing, Jason at performancenissanparts.com assured me that this is normal, it is because the air is flowing through the z-tube a lot faster than the stock set up.

Re: Z Tube whistle/chirp

It is very common, mine did it until I added the Stillen air box. There are few other threads about it. Nothing wrong with your install. best description is have heard is your car can now whistle at the ladies.
