JWT Pop-Charger + Z-Tube DIY (pics and videos)

OK, I finally got to install the JWT Pop charger + Z-tube combo.
What a difference in sound, it's like day and night. Can't really notice any difference in sound in low RPMs,
but when you take that sucker to above 4000 and get closer to the red zone, this beast just wakes up to life
As far as performance goes, I think I can notice an increase in my butt-dyno, but I think it's my brain-dyno that noticed a difference...
This mod is definitely money well spent.

Attached is a DIY (unfortunately I don't have a web server to host it on, and so I had to use Imagestation.com). At the end of the DIY you will also find some short video clips where you can hear that sucker roars (sorry for the bad quality).

- Special thanks to Jason and his DIY !

Re: JWT Pop-Charger + Z-Tube DIY (pics and videos)

very nice pics + install guide!!

where did you order your z-tube from?
why is it that on some pics, there is no sticker on the tube, then all of a sudden there is a JWT sticker?

I thought the sticker comes already on the tube. or do you put it on yourself?

Re: JWT Pop-Charger + Z-Tube DIY (pics and videos)

- Thanks.

The stickers came with the pop charger, the tube is a Nissan OEM part. But then I saw Queen6's (I think) install and really liked the sticker thing. The reason you don't see the stickers until the very end, is simply because I put them on, when I was done with the install.

I got both the Pop Charger and the Z-tube from performancenissanparts.com

Re: JWT Pop-Charger + Z-Tube DIY (pics and videos)

awesome! its members like you (and jeff from performance of course) who make this site worthwhile to visit. I was thinking about bringing the z tube and pop charger to the Atco raceway day, and see if anyone would like to help install it. It could be instructional to anyone there who would like to do it at home and also i would be getting great help in doing it. My car would be the test dummy, and others could just jump in and walk all of us through it (especially since i'm mechanically retarded). what do you think?

Thanks guys, no problem.

NYCGspot, sure no problem.
I'm no big Joe mechanic myself, but I can definitely give you a hand with the pop charger install, it really is a no brainer.
See you in Atco

One question...
Did you remove the drain? If you choose not to, does it need to be covered or just left alone?

I just left it as it is (didn't remove and didn't cover).

Re: JWT Pop-Charger + Z-Tube DIY (pics and videos)

Thanks for the great instructions. The accompanying instructions from JWT are aweful. I could not believe how easy the install was. I did have a 2nd bracket piece left over- any idea what it was for? Also, 2 plastic screws hold the front air duct. Behind it, I have a hole that is empty but looks like it should have a bolt or something-any idea what goes there?
Again, thanks for the great post.

Yes, I have that spare bracket as well and have no idea what it's for....

Also, the hole that's left on the air duct, is I think where the stock Airbox was anchored into.

Spare bracket? I didn't have any leftover pieces when I installed mine. I'm curious now as to what you are talking about.
