And its not even a trade. The average power in any gear at any shift point is greater.

Isn't that Mrev+ also help on the top end (At least that is what I read)? So any different between the two?

Yes, the MREV+ also helped the top end.

I can't remember the names, but there are a couple pre/post dynos of the MREV+ and MREV2 posted here on G35driver.

Great test. It's nice to see true results from an outside source.

Removing the Catylitic converters in HIGHLY illegal in all 50 states and imposes fines up to $10,000 USD as well as will not pass Carb..
On the other hand, the MREV mods are completely legal and pass carb.
Just to put in in perspective for ya..

Test pipes are indeed great bang for the buck.

The problem is that they have drawbacks that some people may or may not tolerate. Louder, raspy, smelly and its the one mod that will get cops really ticked off if they catch you with them.

I love the test pipes on my Z (when out on the road course ), but they are definetly not appropriate for the wifes G35.

With the MREV2 and spacers the only real side effect is increased power.

Anywhere near the advertised 15whp-18tq?

I'm not an expert at interpreting dyno charts but did MIA question get answered. I'm still interested in this product and the advertised gains.

It looks like it, but I can't give an exact answer without the actual data files.
Julian can probably look it up on the actual dyno computer.

The "Fun" is in the portion "above the curve" that is in the everyday range that you use in daily driving.

I will try to post some raw data files later today if i get a chance, however there are 25whp gains in some areas of the graph.

Even though I've seen these results over and over, every time I see it, I can't help but wonder how Nissan/Infiniti missed so much area under the curve.

Its not just better for daily driving, its better in any race application. The power plateu average is not only higher, its much wider. The plateu is nearly doubled in width.

If I was working in the lab at Nissan, I know I would have nailed this one.
Tony- You're forgetting one very important thing, HP sells cars. 99% of the buying public doesn't understand the difference between peak HP and power curve. They see that the 2005-2006 G35 6MT came with 298hp vs 280hp/260hp therefore they assume the 298hp car will be a lot quicker. Little do most of them know that the 1/4 mile times are identical among all 1st gen 6MT cars.

HP sells cars, power under the curve wins races.
