2003 Sedan exhaust: functional?

are both tips functional? I only ask because today it was cold and i started with my remote and noticed exhaust only comes out the left side; hell once I got home the one on the right was cool to the touch!

When I started it up it sounded like it was having a bit of trouble starting, but I was pretty far away so im not 100% sure about that.

does anyone know if I have a major problem, or is everything working as intended?

lol, I self-pwned. I did a quick search, and came up with nothing, made the thread and went back to search harder, found something with a title that wasn't self evident. Made the next post so someone else didn't have to, because I knew I was in the wrong.

either way, I did a bit more research and found out that not only does this function reduce noise, but it makes your car heat up faster. Most BMWs have this as well, along with the C6 vettes; with an option on the new C8 vettes, but that one is electric I believe.

cool stuff anyways. anyone know where the valve is located? would it be taken out in the event of a cat-back HKS being installed?

Since the valve is in the muffler it will be gone when you change the exhaust. It's no big deal.
