Electric cutouts

I was thinking about getting a set of electric cutouts put on my car (I know they're not CA legal) just to have a little more fun without having a loud exhaust all the time. Anyone here ever have them on their G? How did it work?

Nope. But I was looking at ones where the opening is variable to keep some backpressure.

I have cutouts. It will kill your 1st and 2nd gear power on NA's, you won't feel it until 3rd & 3k +

On the other hand, I gained 1/10 sec on the 1/4 mile, but added nearly 2 sec's on the 60'.

Loud as a mother! you will sound like a JGTC race car. No way you will even play with them on the streets unless you like shiney red and blue lights all around you.

Blew a fuse on it so haven't played with it since going FI. Shawn @ Church's wants to run a dyno with them open when we do the tune.

You can see them towards the end of this vid:

Is it just illegal to have them open on the street? because I guess it has benefits on the track.

I got them, I like the ability to have extra power on tap without always having a drowning exhaust. I think I picked up 30hp with it

i'd be tempted to use 'em more as a switch between two exhausts, rather than just dumping to atmosphere, so as to keep some back pressure and reduce the noise, but still offering more flow and noise than the "everyday" system.
