I was getting HFC at first, but then decided to go with resonated test pipes. With my combination, I have virtually no rasp, even at WOT. It's definately louder, and will yield more power over HFC, but it also has its bad sides.

The smell takes time to get use to... as I already did.

Overall, I'm glad I went with resonated test pipes over HFC. It's not as conveniant as HFC for a daily driven G35, but im a performance junkie. Test pipes just made my car a little more race-inspired (mostly in sound)

If you live in California, you're running a risk of a $1500 dollar fine if you get caught with no cats. The chances of that happening are very small, as long as you don't make yourself stand out of the norm (ie. flooring it all the time ).

Sorry if I hijack this thread, but it's kind of the same questions.

if i get the SC and get HFC's how less beneficial will that be than TP's? I don't think I will care for the smell, and I like it to be louder with my FI exhaust.

But I'm thinking HFC's because I do use it as a daily in the summertime. Will it be that much noticeably slower with HFC's?

Will it still be loud with HFC's? I think the FI exhaust is too quiet outside the car.

Thanks man, I really appreciate your help! To tell you the truth Im really freagin confused

Right now I cant afford goin FI, maybe in the near future. But for now I want my exhaust to sound loud (deep meanny sound), and at the same time to gain WRHP But based on the responses here, there are lots of thing to consider, like the illegal stuff, the smell (what smell is it by the way?), resonated, TP vs HCF, etc, etc,.. So, what do you suggest in an easy way to reach my goal? -Maybe trade my exhaust to a tru dual exhaust? Bcuz my NISMO (350 z nismo weldina) only sounds like a stock, thats just amplified. Any suggestions, tips?

In my opinion if you're going with Test Pipes, I suggest you go Fast Intentions T.P, in my opinion I believe they are one of the best I'm using Kinetix High Flow Cats right now my self and enjoying it also. About Smog, man you live in southern cali, go take it to a local smog shop or some vietnamese owned smog, kick them down little money and the'll pass you Just smog at a place that wont report you if you fail, sounds harsh but " stay away from the white places" if you don't want to get ratted on, they take illegal up the a$$.

you will stay about the same sound with HFC's, the RESONATED tp's will give you groan without rasp... thats why i got them. I would look into the HKS if you want a loud exhaust... that with test pipes is IDEAL, thats what i bought from my friend and ended up selling the exhaust for more than i paid for both, i wish i had them back... but whatever...
