is there a universal heat shield?

I have an AEM intake and I'm running it short ram for now.. was wondering if there's a heat shield I can buy, or if someone has made one and can post a DIY. Also, the AEM site states their filters are lifetime guarantee, mine is dirty and the part with the fastener looks like it's cracking around the edges. Do you think I can send it in or is there a way to clean these filters?

it looks like they cover the whole filter, but is that good? doesn't thtat block all the air flow? the AEM filter doesn't have an opening in the top either..
