My Injen Exhaust comparison

I now have the fourth exhaust system on my 2003 6-speed coupe. I put the Stillen system on about a week after picking up my car. It was better but not the sound I wanted. It kinda sounded like the big Japanese super bikes. I had it on for about 1200-1500 miles then I put on the Borla system which had no where near the quality of the Stillen but sounded a little deeper - but not much. I ran the Borla for about 1000 miles and have just now put on the Injen. What a difference! The old "butt-o-meter" tells me there is more power and the sound is fantastic. The fit and finish of the Injen is tops. It is polished stainless steel the entire length so it also looks fanstastic. The Injen gives a nice rumble when you back off the throttle too - that was something I was looking for. The Injen tips are some of the best looking that I have ever seen. The Borlas were just a little too large for my taste. The Stillen tips were nice too.

Re: My Injen Exhaust comparison

Glad to hear you enjoy the Injen. Do you still have the old exhausts (rich bastard... :P ) BTW? I think it'd be great if you could do a dyno comparison between the four; I'd put in to see an independent testing... glad to see you finally found the one you like.

I had a real big feeling that the injen one would be good. Do you have any sound clips of it. I would really like to hear what it sounds like.
Thanks

Larry,
Sure glad I didn't buy that Stillen from you. I got the Injen as well. It's taken me about three weeks to get used to it's tug boat sound at low RPM but I do like the roar at WOT. Here's a better pic of the exhaust if anyone is interested.

Re: My Injen Exhaust comparison

Excuse the newbie question, but I have been researching exhaust systems for the G in the last week and I've been overloaded with info. Now I'm just trying to parse through all this information....

Is there more than 1 variant of the Injen exhaust for the G35?

Re: My Injen Exhaust comparison

I'm sorry that I didn't get back to you sooner. I'm retired and so busy with many hobbies that I don't get back to this web site as often as I would like to. No - I have sold both the Stillen and Borla systems already. I still have the original factory system because I figure no one really would be interested in buying it. The Injen system keeps getting better sounding as it gets broken in. As for the smell that everyone complains about - just drive it hard for about a 200 mile trip, you will burn off that smell.

Re: My Injen Exhaust comparison

Thanks for all the Injen posts. I just ordered mine off Ebay for $699!!! Should get it in a few days and have it on a few days later and will let everyone know what I think. Cant beat a post with someone that has had the Stillen, Borla, and the Injen. Thats what made up my mind!
