Cosworth v.s. Speed Force Racing

Need some help deciding on which Manifold would be best for my 2005 G35 coupe. I'm leaning towards either the Cosworth or Speed Force Racing. Looking forward to all of your replies.

I would take the cosworth. No offense to the SFR, I actually think that thing is horrid looking. Hardly any results posted for their manifold after countless I mean countless posts about doing it soon and this and that.

Go with what you want but the Cosworth manifold is backed by data and install is cake compared to the SFR and stock pieces.

The cosworth is new, NA results will vary and are not as findable. If you're looking to spend that kind of money on a plenum the cosworth is hella better deal and it'll sell used better than the SFR one. The whole stripping out the TB harness to move it is not worth it either for the single TB set up they have.

Here's a thread of a boosted SFR http://my350z.com/forum/showthread.p...&highlight=sfr
Another http://my350z.com/forum/showthread.p...&highlight=sfr
If you're up to the task of going through this long a$$ thread http://my350z.com/forum/showthread.php?t=158576

Not bashing the SFR set up or the company. Just don't see it's worthiness beyond being shiny.

SC's base osiris maps feel much better now. I'm hoping future custom maps with optimized cam phasing/timing will take full advantage of the Cosworth after data logging. My dyno comparison was MREV2,5/16 spacer vs. Cosworth plenum along with other mods on a generic Technosquare reflash meant for the MD setup. With Osiris, I'm sure I'm making more power, how much more, I won't know unitl I go back to the dyno for logging.

For NA, it seems as though the Cosworth plenum gives gains similar to a spacer without tuning. The MD spacer/MREV2 is a better bang for the buck if you have a revup without a doubt.

But to take full advantage of Cosworth it seems as though you must be boosted, or N/A with aggresive cams, headwork, custom tuning, etc.

To answer the op's question, take the Cosworth over the SFR, but have you not considered MD options?

Actually MD was my first choice, until i started reading more into the other performance options and the reviews from our fellow members on these forums. My G's Revup engine is practically bone stock besides the AEM c/a intake that i recently intalled. I have parts coming in from Coz @ conceptzperformance such as:

Strupp headers
Kinetix resonated test pipes
HKS Dual Hi power exaust

I do plan on going FI real soon, but still debating on which kit to get. If anyone can help me with that as well, will be greatly appreciated. I'm also looking into the best performance internals as well. Thanks alot for everyones help. I'll be looking forward to more replies & i will also be posting up pics as soon as decide on what parts to get.(with the help from all of you)

Honestly - if your looking to go FI, and don't know which setup - STOP buying things now and make up your mind. You really don't know what you need yet, as you don't know your direction.

You need a plan....I suggest you go to one of the known shops and put a plan down...and figure out exactly what you'll need. Then you can start buying and installing some of it...if not all of it in one big project.

Trust me...

Rick

P.S. To help answer your question initially - the 1/2" MD spacer is the single best intake mod out there for FI setups...the other plenum's, cost a bunch more for VERY little difference overall, if any - and some are negative. As for the bling aspect - Cosworth or the Kinetix - the SFR wouldn't work too well for an FI setup out of the box and piping would need to be changed, etc...
