Thats amazing. I'm sure it'll cost as much or more than a tune. But thats exactly what I had in mind. Thanks... bookmarked!

It is supposed to be $700 and you can download tunes from them for free. Here is some of what it is supposed to do.

Currently we are in the initial development and testing stages of the AccessPORT for the 350Z and G35. We can use this thread to post updates about development, and so you can ask questions or give suggestions on how we can make the AccessPORT better.

What is the AccessPORT?
The COBB AccessPORT is a handheld programmer used to upload pre-programmed maps to the ECU via the OBD-II port in a matter of minutes. No cutting, wiring, or other modification is required. Once the data has been uploaded, you can disconnect the AccessPORT and your tuned data stays on the ECU. Or, you can leave it connected and use the AccessPORT as a digital display for engine parameters.

In addition, you can connect the AccessPORT to your PC (Windows, Mac, or Linux) and stay up to date with the latest calibrations by downloading them from our website. (USB required)

The quick feature list is:
Reprogram factory ECU (Engine Control Unit) with tuned data
Maintains factory ECU capabilities and safety features providing completely seamless functionality
Realtime modification of tuned data
Realtime log display of engine parameters (air/fuel ratio, ignition, etc)
Read engine trouble codes and display
Comes with prepackaged stage and convenience maps
Upgrade to custom-tuned map through authorized AccessPORT ProTUNER
Load custom tuning data for your specific vehicle and modifications provided by an authorized AccessPORT ProTUNER or upgrade to the StreetTUNER package for do-it-yourself tuning
Uninstall ability that reverts back to 100% stock map that was on your ECU originally
Measure 0-60 mph and 1/4 mile times
Currently we expect to have support for all year model 350Z and G35 and will be providing the ProTUNER tuning software to other Z/G specialist so those of you that want custom tuning (ie: turbo kits, etc) can do so with the AccessPORT.

We need more testers so if anyone is in the Salt Lake City, UT area and has a 350Z or G35, please feel free to PM or e-mail me so we can determine if your vehicle may be used for testing.

Cheers,
Trey @ COBB

I went from 197 RWHP (AWD dyno) To 255 RWHP (samedeal)

Night and day difference- that was with an ECU too tho.

I'm on the list to beta test one of these for the G. They are interested in me because of my very early sedan ecu production date.

Sounds similar to the UpRev Osiris, which has been a huge hit since it came out for the VQ35 (tons of potential).

uhmm bolt on would be spacer/intake/exhaust/headers/cats would be pretty chill and maybe a reflash of the ecu or even use a greddy emanage/ apexi safc or even motec<--did i spell that right...you should be able to get good gains... dont expect to much unless you go FI

maybe with all that youll get maybe 30 to 80 hp increase with tuning maybe??

In my opinion, bolt ons are just the preparation for major engine work like FI or fully built stroked out engines. Unfortuneatly, most of us dont make it that far....

If you're gonna stay NA and leave the engine alone...are cams considered bolt on?

yep cams should be considered bolt ons

i was running spacers, HFC, Headers, HKS exhaust, and put about 270 to the wheel, dynoed over at church's place, this is WITHOUT a tune also so should be able to push out a few more..

cams are "bolt-ons", but carry 8-12 labor hours for install.

Completely agree. Atleast, thats the way I see it. And I plan on making it to Forced Induction

Yeah, but it has it's own hand held unit (about the size of a PDA) so you can carry multiple maps on it and change wherever rather having to use a computer.

On engines like the B16's I think cams are bolt-ons. However IMO cams on our VQ35 are kinda not. My reasoning is because you have to remove the bumper, driver pulleys, oil pan, timing cover and intake manifolds, before you could even think about removing the valve covers. It's just SO MUCH work just to get to the cams.
