full boltons?

WHat kind of power are you guys getting out of a full bolt on car? Trying to decide if this car is worth modding.

If you're looking for big numbers/gains, then n/a bolt-ons are going to disappoint you.

With intake, plenum spacer, exhaust and a tune you might be lucky to see 30hp. You probably need headers and test pipes for the thirty.

Exactly what is your definition of "bolt ons"???? Built motors, supercharges, turbos and nitrous all need to be bolted on.

Considering the general use of the term bolt-on, it is implied that the person is interested in n/a bolt-ons. Of course, even n/a bolt-ons can get pricey. But the most basic bolt-ons (i.e. plenums/spacers, intakes, exhaust components, etc.) are generally what are being asked about.

Have you honestly tried doing a little research? Not trying to sound like a ***** or anything, but there is a ton of information in here & over at my350z.com. It's not a rare/scarce topic.

Speaking in general, our bolt-ons are pretty expensive for what they yield in power. If you really wanted good power, save up a few couple of k's and get a basic Vortech kit (for a start). But then again, you will probably still end up getting the more common bolt-ons out there (exhaust, HFC, etc).

.

Good question. Undecided if I want a blower.. so I'm curious about a full bolt on car... intake, full exhaust (headers and HFC/Test pipes), spacer and a tune would put out at the wheels..?

The mods you mention are exactly what I have done - except the tune. The car feels much faster than stock, but I'm sure that I'm running way too lean right now.

I can't decide which tune I want to get, and certainly don't want to void my powertrain warranty should there be an engine problem. I'd like to get the Osiris, but I'm about 20 minutes from AAM, and could probably get their flash for $300 cheaper than Osiris... decisions, decisions.

BlueDevilBAMF, you spend lots of time here...
As far as getting a tune, is there any kind of hand held device that allows us to tune our cars? Thanks bro!

you should ask Marty. he's got every baller n/a bolt-on you could possibly think of. he's probably making some decent power given he hasn't gone FI just yet...

Haha I think the times of day I'm on happen to coincide with your own... seems like every time I "Get New Posts" your thread about the LED fogs is up so I mosey on over and make a comment

I'm pretty sure if you're knowledgeable you can do your own tuning with a UTEC (honestly have no expertise in this area), and the Osiris has up to 5 maps they load for you that you can cycle between (startup is always the stock map).

Altered Atmosphere (AAM) uses the same software as the CA-based Technosquare. Supposedly the only major difference is AAM is optimized for 93 octane (east coast) and technosquare is optimized for 91 octane (west coast).

AAM:
Altered Atmosphere

EDIT: The AAM reflash goes on sale for $419 every once in a while instead of the $595 listed.

419 is more reasonable.
What would you get, 52" Sony XBR4 or a blower? :\

I've got an LCD already, so I'd say go Vortech

But to do SC correctly/safely, you'll need more like $8K all said and done

Damn... my girl wouldn't allow that. I had to hide the mods Ive bought.. ha. I still need to buy a ring for her finger... shes putting the pressure on me.
How about you buy the vortech then upgrade to turbo and I buy the kit off of you?
