Help Needed ASAP Car is on the lift!!!

Hey guys my car is at a shop for a Wide Band A/F install. Where do you weld the bung at? I know its probably a dumb question but if there are 2 pipes the sensor will only measure the pipe you put it in correct? So that is basically half the engine. Or does it not matter? Any help is appreciated.

no offense but i just htought it was funny the OP got the car on the lift to install the wideband to find out there's 2 pipes. I hope you're not paying for the install, otherwise i'd suggest taking it off the lift and finding a new knowledgable shop.

should be bunged on the cats before the catalyst core.

I did just that! I was so damn mad!!! He asked me where to put this thing! I am not the mechanic you are and you don't know? I don't know why he just did'nt say I don't know how to do this. He called me 4 hrs later and said "I have no idea what it is you are asking me to do" "You already have 4 sensors and there is no where to put this one" I said "just put it in front of the stock sensors" and he said "which pipe?" I replied "does it matter" and he said "it will only read half the car."

I called autometer and they said to install it on the collector or just put their supplied sensor into one of the stock ones. I called the shop back and told him and he said "If I switch the sensors out then I would have wires that read nothing and my check engine light would come on" and I said "what about the collector?" He said "whats a collector?" I replied "nevermind I will take it some where else."

This has been a crappy a$$ week for me when it comes to car stuff. Thanks for the replies though!

Wideband sensors are installed BEFORE the CATS - can be on the CAT pipe, actually will be on the CAT pipe, but before the CAT itself. You want it to monitor the exhaust BEFORE the CAT filters it.
