Crowford or Kinetix plenum?

ok, I'm looking to upgrade my performance and ordered utec already. my car is 03 AT with catback exhaust, y pipe, high flow cats, z-tube and md 5/16 spacer. I'm wondering which intake plenum would have noticeable gained with my mods?

they are the same stuff. As far as quality goes i have had my kinetix V+ for over 1.5 years and haven't had a single issue with it. Driven this car in 120 degree heat in Vegas for about 30 minutes stuck in traffic and the car still worked fine. Just get whichever u can find cheaper.

I would go with the kinetix V+. The crawford plenums IMO aren't good. The new crawford plenum which is supposed to rival the SSV blows leaks, and the one comparable to the V+ can't handle FI (it blows up). The kinetix plenums will also give you greater gains.

Not sure how the Kinetix would ever get recommended over the Crawford: This graph K=kinetix (not sure on the version) and C = crawford (again not sure on the version). Ave gains for the crawford is clearly superior.
But for the $, I'd consider the 3/8" spacer that's available on the 350z forums. Alot cheaper than the motodyne units.

Here's another good graph. Represents the change in hp vs the oem baseline. Nice as it shows almost the entire rpm range

to my knowledge Crawford doesn’t make plenums anymore... if you are buying used and its good condition, it's probably cheaper than other alternatives so if you like it, get it.

For those that say Kinetix net more power, that's false.

Crawford, Kinetix, spacer are all going to result roughly the same... get what you like that is in you budget.

not with after market plenum... it doesn’t add gains, and won’t fit anyway... one or the other.

If the next question is which one is better... since you have the spacer keep it... most
dynos have shown the spacer to give slightly better gains... in reality the diff between various spacers and plenums are negligible (won’t really notice butt dyno)... MD have been a proven reliable product with great cust svc... it's a good choice.

Some people like the look of aftermarket stuff so Kinetix or (old) Crawford lets them show that they have added some oomph.

Exactly. I was like "WTF"? Crawford's "new" plenum?

I got my V5 Crawford for a great price and it seems to dyno pretty good so that's what I got.

The only two I'd avoid no matter what price I got it for would be the Kinetix or the AAM.

I didn't say they wouldn't work. I'm saying they didn't perform well enough to justify me buying one. Especially the AAM unit.

+1 Crawford does not make them anymore, it basically didn't sell enough and it's not worth it making it anymore. I had the Kinetix Plenum and was very happy with it, no regrets and highly suggested. I'm settle with a Mrev spacer now but that because I wanted the oem polish plenum But in general Kinetix, or spacer etc will do the job, depends on your budget.

^^^they (Crawford) sold quite a few initially (first couple of G years)... in fact, it was one of the only options... when Motodyne's spacer became so successful the sales dropped off... I'm sure Kinetix sales suffered too...
