CARB Pending???

I was wondering how a CARB Pending modification, such as the Z-Tube and filter from Stillen would effect a smog check?

Why would the Z-Tube and Filter be CARB pending, when an intake is CARB approved?

Thanks to all you knowledgeable people!!!

John

it won't effect ur smog at all, some smog stations are really ****... the rest of them don't care at all. not all intakes are CARB legal only the one's that have applied and recieved a CARB#. so, if a smog station really cares they can deny you a check w/o CARB#'s for ur aftermarket intake. chances are they won't even notice ur Stillen Z-Tube.

Intake is just an intake; who cares if its CARB legal or not. If its not, then just remove it for the visual inspection (it won't actually affect the sniffer test).

It's rather sad that a modification like an intake has virtually no affect on emmisions and can pass the sniffer test, yet California requires it to be CARB "legal". Just a way California generates revenue from aftermarket companies.
